Dallas Wings Women’s Professional Basketball Team Make Landing
I took a blogging break for a bit but remained active on social media. Lots of things happening over the past several months including good news on the professional sporting world.
A few months back, I was invited to attend a press conference for the Dallas Wings Basketball Team via a contributor of WOAW Talk Show & Magazine. They unveiled the new logo and team name on November 2nd.
After playing in Oklahoma for a several years, the transfer to Dallas is a big step for the team. They’re home court is College Park Center at UT Arlington and the first professional women’s basketball team in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The organization chose Dallas due to it being a big sports hub in the United States. Adding a women’s team was a no brainer.
According to the press conference, all members from the Oklahoma team will be transferring over to the Wings, including the Head Coach Williams, Skylar Diggins and Odyssey Sims. Both players were instrumental in the success of the team in OK.
The WNBA is celebrating their 20th year and I could not be more excited. As a lover of all sports, the Dallas Wings brings more than just a team to the area. They’re bringing a long awaited and due women’s professional organization to one of the biggest cities in the United States.
If you follow Dallas Wings on social media, you will already see the players participating in community and charity events. The high caliber of the players both on and off the court in the off season says a lot about what we can expect this season.
Here are a few photos from the November 2nd event. The one on the right is a photo of my colleague Katrina Lokko, founder of WOAW Talk Show & Magazine along with Skylar Diggins, a Dallas Wings player.
Season starts on May 21st and ends on September 18th. Welcome to Dallas!!!
